Windturbine Basement Entry

In this training course, you will learn how to safely enter the basement (cellar) of a wind turbine. This area usually has limited ventilation and is only accessible from above via a staircase or ladder. To carry out the work safely, it is important that you are aware of the specific risks and know how to use the correct safety systems.

After this 4-hour training course, you will be able to enter the basement independently and in accordance with the applicable procedures, carry out a pre-use inspection of your harness, use ladder rail and cable safety systems correctly, and carry out a gas test to assess the air quality before descending.

Who is it for?

Anyone who works in or around a wind turbine basement or needs access to this space: wind technicians, maintenance engineers, inspectors and HSE staff. There are no entry requirements — prior knowledge of working at height is an advantage but not essential.
