First responder - refresher

The refresher of the FAN First Responder course provides the 'first responder' with sufficient tools to be able to act quickly and effectively within the first minutes after an accident until the moment when the emergency services are taken over by the alerted external professional emergency services.

Target group: Anyone who wants to respond quickly and adequately in the event of first aid.
Prerequisites: In possession of FAN First Responder Certificate
Validity: 12 months

This basic First Aid course provides the 'first responder' with sufficient tools to be able to act quickly and effectively within the first minutes after an accident until the moment when the emergency assistance is taken over by the alerted external professional emergency services.

Contents

• Rescue Management (assess the situation, oversee danger, protective equipment, etc.)
• Alert
• Initial assessment of the victim
• Clear the airway, ventilate and resuscitate (CPR)
• Use AED
• Stabilizing an unconscious victim
• Stalling severe bleeding
• Shock treatment
• Moving in emergency situations

After successfully completing this course, participants will have or be able to:

• knowledge of rescue management (assessing situation, overseeing danger, protective equipment, etc.)
• knowledge of how to alert
• dealing with the victim's initial assessment
• knowledge of airway clearance, ventilation and resuscitation (CPR)
• use AED
• knowledge of stabilizing an unconscious victim
• knowledge of stopping serious bleeding
• how to deal with shock treatment
• how to deal with moving in emergency situations.
