Course Description
The Onshore Limited Access module provides essential training for participants to safely access and visit onshore wind turbines. This module covers key safety topics, including hazard identification, managing medical and fire emergencies, and working at height. Upon successful completion, participants will be qualified to visit onshore wind turbine sites, provided they are supervised by at least two individuals holding a valid GWO certificate.
Course Content: GWO Wind Limited Access
- Personal Safety
- Working at Height (Theory): Overview of relevant laws and regulations, understanding personal protective equipment (PPE), forces, and safety practices.
- Basic Fall Protection: Proper use of harnesses, guidelines for fall protection, workplace restraint, and positioning techniques.
- Emergency Descent: Techniques for emergency descent using a centrifugal device.
- Fire Safety: Identifying fire risks and stages of fire progression.
- Firefighting Equipment: Recognizing and using appropriate extinguishing agents.
- Primary First Aid Assessment: Initial assessment techniques for first aid response.
- Life-Saving Action Plan: Step-by-step guidance for emergency situations.
- CPR with and without AED: Hands-on training for resuscitation with and without an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
This module ensures participants are equipped with fundamental safety skills and knowledge for limited access to onshore wind turbine sites.
